Counselling & Psychotherapy
There are many reasons that can bring us to therapy, whether they are life time struggles or temporary difficult events.
I offer a non-judgmental, safe and confidential space in which you can explore various aspects of your life and talk openly about thoughts and feelings in a way which might not be possible with friends or family. Talking through past experience and present relationships in therapy can yield insight into unhelpful ways of living and bring about meaningful change.
How I work
In my experience the relationship between the client and therapist is an important and powerful tool and I work on developing a space in which you feel able to express what is most difficult for you.
My thinking is based on an embodied mind and the integrative approach allows me to combine traditional therapeutic ideas with contemporary findings from neurobiology and evidence-based models such as CBT. In this way therapy is tailored to suit your needs, rather than you fitting into a method.
Most of my private work is open-ended at my clients’ request but my work within the NHS is short-term solution-focussed and private clients can opt for this, too.
How we will work together will depend on your aims and the sorts of difficulties you are experiencing.
I work with:
- cross-cultural issues
- life changes
- loss &bereavement
- personal development
- relationship issues
- work-related issues
