An introductory CPD workshop aiming to provide an overview of time-limited therapeutic work.

Recognising the tensions arising from the demands on counsellors and psychotherapists both in IAPT services and in private practice, we will explore contemporary psychodynamic and integrative theoretical approaches and models for short-term work between 6 and 16 sessions and discuss effectiveness and suitability for different client groups.

Using case studies, we will identify and discuss key elements in treatment geared at benefiting patients and supporting clinicians as well as contributing to increasing recovery rates in IAPT services.
