As an integrative therapist, mindfulness facilitator and yoga teacher, I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and confidentiality according to the principles of the accrediting bodies BACP, UKCP and Yoga Professionals UK. 

This Policy explains when and why I collect personal information about people who visit my website or contact me regarding my services, how I use it, the conditions under which I may disclose it to others and how I keep it secure.

I may change this Policy from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes. By using my website, you are agreeing to be bound by this Policy. Upon entering therapy with me I will ask you to sign latest printed version.

How do I collect information from you?

I collect information from you only with your knowledge and free consent such as when you inquire providing your data for contact; or you register for a service, event or activity online or offline; or you subscribe to my newsletter.

What type of information is collected from you? 

The personal information I collect might include your name, address, email address, phone number, GP details, medication, attendance records, brief session notes, payment information, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when.

How is your information used?

I may use your information in one of the following ways:

  1. To provide services
  2. To process inquiries, scheduling and transactions
  3. To send marketing material (i.e. emails or newsletters)

How long will I keep your information?

I review my retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. I am legally required to hold some basic types of information to comply with the law (taxes). To comply with insurance requirements I keep records of my services for the duration of our contract. I will destroy electronic records at the end of our contract, and continue to hold a paper copy for five years thereafter. After the retention period, I will erase your information unless you have given me prior written consent to maintain your contact details.

How can you update your information?

The accuracy of your information is important to me. If you change email address, or any of the other information I hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email me at [email protected]. Alternatively, you can tell me in person or phone 07507 055 611.

Who has access to your information?

I will not exchange, transfer or give your personal information to any third party without your consent. This excludes trusted third parties who assist me in operating my services so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential (payment system, EAP providers, insurance). I may release your information when I am requested to comply with the law.

In case I suddenly became incapacitated or otherwise unable to contact you, my supervisor will have access to your name and contact details so they can inform you of the circumstances and make arrangements for support.

You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you. You can request in writing for your data to be erased. I will review your request and comply within a month unless I am obliged to keep your data for ethical reasons or I am required by law.

How is your data stored?

When you give me your personal information, I take steps to ensure it is treated securely. I store electronic data that is sensitive in encrypted, password protected and virus protected online databases. Manual data is kept in a securely locked filing system.

Data that is transmitted normally over the Internet can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and you do so at your own risk. Once I receive your information, I make my best effort to ensure its security on my systems.

For audio-video sessions I use SKYPE or DOXY.ME (visual only) and we shall agree not to record sessions without prior agreement. You agree to accept the limitations of online communication when you contact me.

Where I have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain documents, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential and not to share it with anyone.

What happens in case of a data breach?

I am committed to keeping your information secure and I am registered with ICO Information Commissioners Office. My online databases run programs to protect and detect data breach. In case of data breach I will inform you, launch an investigation into the breach, and report the breach to the ICO. You have a right to complain to the ICO if you believe there’s a problem with the way I handle your data.

Use of ‘cookies’

Like many other websites, I use cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow that website to recognise you when you visit. They collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual. For example, cookies are used to store your country preference. This can help in improving a website and deliver a better more personalised service.
