Who’s talking, and who’s answering? A map of relationship dynamics

A small, interactive map of how everyday conversations flow, and where they snag. It draws on Transactional Analysis: the idea that we each speak from a Parent, an Adult, or a Child, and that most friction is a crossed line, not a bad intention.

Transactional Analysis

We each speak from one of three places: a Parent (rules, care, criticism), an Adult (calm, present, problem-solving), or a Child (feelings, play, hurt). A conversation flows when the two lines run parallel, and snags the moment they cross.

Tap a square: you speak from the row, they answer from the column.

You: Adult · They: Adult

Two adults, meeting as equals

There is no “right” square. We all move between Parent, Adult and Child many times a day. The work is noticing which one is speaking, and being able to come back to Adult when it matters.
